NTCC Eagle Softball faced a challenging matchup against Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) Lady Cavaliers, falling 16-8 on Saturday.
NTCC took an early lead in the first inning when Kyndal Yaross grounded out to drive in two runs. However, BPCC responded with a dominant second inning, scoring seven runs on five hits to take control of the game. Bell Landâs two-run single highlighted the inning. BPCC extended its lead in the third, adding six more runs on three hits, including a three-run triple by Yasmin Gallarzo and an RBI double from Malia Plourde. Gallarzo continued her standout performance with a two-run home run in the sixth.
Natalie Morrison provided relief pitching for NTCC, throwing three and two-thirds innings while allowing four hits and four runs (two earned), striking out one and walking two. Kiersten Fincannon started the game, surrendering four hits and six runs over one and two-thirds innings, also recording one strikeout and one walk.
Offensively, NTCC saw strong contributions from Preslielyn Barraza and Peyton Holland, who each recorded two hits. Yaross led the team with three RBIs, going 1-for-4 at the plate. Paislee Clark demonstrated discipline with a team-high two walks, while NTCC collectively tallied five walks and three stolen bases.
BPCCs offensive performance was led by Gallarzo, who went 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Plourde and Land also had multiple hits, while Crip Jackson led the team in walks with two. BPCC showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks overall and collecting 11 hits.
Despite NTCCs efforts at the plate and on the base paths, BPCCs offensive momentum proved difficult to overcome.

NTCC Eagle Softball Falls Short Despite Out-Hitting Bossier Parish Community College
NTCC Eagle Softball suffered a narrow 8-7 loss to Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) Lady Cavaliers on Saturday, despite outhitting their opponent 11 to 8.
NTCC displayed resilience after falling behind by five runs in the sixth inning, rallying late with key hits, including a double, a single, and a walk to close the gap.
BPCC took an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on a single by Malia Plourde, an error that allowed two runs to score, and an RBI single from Raeley Duplechin. NTCC responded in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run to left field by Kyndal Yaross. Peyton Holland added another solo home run in the third, keeping NTCC within striking distance.
BPCC extended its lead in the fifth with a solo home run to center field by Bell Land.
Casey Jones started on the mound for NTCC, allowing eight hits and eight runs (only two earned) over five innings while striking out three and walking none. Sydney Millea led BPCCs pitching effort, surrendering seven hits and three runs over six innings, also striking out three without issuing a walk.
NTCCs offense was led by Yaross, Sarai Cruz-Camacho, Preslielyn Barraza, and Taylor Gouge, who each recorded two hits. Yaross and Kiersten Fincannon both contributed two RBIs.
For BPCC, Plourde drove in three runs while Buggy Kaopuiki and Land each recorded two hits. Defensively, BPCC played a clean game, committing no errors, with Yasmin Gallarzo leading the team with five defensive chances.
Despite the late push, NTCCs rally fell just short as BPCC held on for the victory.
