Eunice, LA — On Sunday night, the NTCC men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to the LSU Eunice Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Bengals benefited from a deflected shot to break the ice in the 5th minute with a goal to take the 1-0 lead.
LSUE would threaten the Eagles goal and carry the play for the next 15 minutes before NTCC found their footing. The final 25 minutes of the first half would go back and forth with neither team able to score again.
The 2nd half was more of the same with the home side earning a penalty kick in the 60th minute, however, freshman defender
Esteban Dominguez stepped up in goal and saved the penalty kick for the Eagles.
The Eagles would rally in a back-and-forth half and had multiple chances to tie the game but ultimately fell short. The visitors had to settle with the 1-0 defeat on the road.
