Coach Sarah Polanco completed her collegiate career at Hardin-Simmons University from 2019–2022, appearing in 144 games with 134 starts. During her time with the Cowgirls, she earned ASC Third Team and Academic All-Conference honors, finishing with a career batting average of .325, along with 140 putouts and a .960 fielding percentage.
Following graduation, Polanco returned to her hometown of El Paso, Tx to begin her coaching career as a volunteer assistant for both the varsity and junior varsity softball programs at her alma mater, Montwood High School.
From 2023–2025, she served as a graduate assistant at Western New Mexico University, working primarily with outfielders and left-handed slappers. During her tenure, the Mustangs posted their best season record since 2016, with multiple players earning Lone Star Conference accolades, including All-Freshman Team, Second Team, and Freshman of the Week honors.
Polanco earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Western New Mexico University in 2025 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Human Services Administration from Hardin-Simmons University (2022).
