Edgar Torres joined coach E's staff at NTCC in June of 2023.

Torres came to Mount Pleasant after 2 seasons as a volunteer assistant to Didier Orellana at Bloomfield College in New Jersey as well as a role as the head coach of the Montclair H.S. boys junior varsity program.

Torres will serve as Evan's top assistant with both programs.

Coach Torres was a standout student athlete and captain of 2 of Evan's Eastern Oklahoma State College teams. He went on to Captain Coach Orellana's (a college teammate of Coach Evan's) Bloomfield College teams as well.

In 2018 Torres captained a Mountaineers team that qualified as the third seed, in a much-improved Region II, by earning points with their season on the line in four of their last five games.

Eastern played two teams that reached the NJCAA Division I semifinals and the eventual Division III national champion, Richland. In fact, Eastern was one of only two teams to beat Richland on its way to its seventh national championship.

Torres had a goal and an assist as Eastern knocked off Richland, which was ranked No. 1 in the country at the time, in a thrilling 2-1 game at Richland to spark its late season run to the Region II semifinals.

Additionally, Torres was once again named to the Region II All-Conference team.

Notably, off the field, Torres was strong in the classroom as well earning distinction on the NJCAA All-Academic team with a perfect 4.0 GPA his sophomore year.

Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Torres played in the U.S Soccer professional development system with Morris Elite, NJ, JVSA,  the Laredo Heat, Lane United, Ft. Worth Vaqueros, and Kitsap Pumas. A 2012 graduate of Newman-Smith H.S. he played in the prestigious FC Dallas pre-academy program.

Torres has earned a bachelor's in business administration from Bloomfield College. He is a respected youth trainer in Dallas and holds coaching licenses with both the NSCAA and USSF.

A native of Dallas, TX. Torres splits his time between Dallas, TX, and Mount Pleasant.
